Currently there are works going on at the Afsluitdijk. From 11 June to about 21 September 2022 we with the Afsluitdijk Wadden Center will unfortunately experience some inconvenience. The work will take place in two phases:
Own transport
Phase 2 – from 3 August to approx. 21 September 2022
The entrance to Friesland from Kornwerderzand is closed. If you plan to visit the Afsluitdijk Wadden Center during this period you can take the following route:
Coming from Friesland: you won’t experience any hindrance from the work on the way out, just take the northern lane A7 and exit at Kornwerderzand. On the way back, take the southern parallel road, which you can find by turning right when you leave the parking lot. Follow this road all the way and at the end turn left onto the “Houwdijk” road. Take the exit before the viaduct towards Sneek and Groningen or the exit further on after the viaduct towards Harlingen and Leeuwarden.
Coming from North Holland: you will not be hindered by these works.
Public transportation
The bus stop will be out until 28 June.
The Afsluitdijk Wadden Center can be reached by on-call bus; the bus must be reserved at least one hour in advance.
