We have something for everyone to experience and discover. Explore our interactive experience centre and learn about the construction and development of the Afsluitdijk. While older children can enjoy interactive games, younger visitors can have fun on the Bobby Fish treasure hunt or at the large drawing table. In addition to the educational activities, there is also plenty of space to relax and enjoy the view of the IJsselmeer. Everything you need for a 100% child-friendly visit ⤵️
From January 2, 2026, admission to the experience center will be €4.00 for children aged 4 to 11 and €6.50 for visitors aged 12 and older. Children aged 3 and under will be admitted free of charge.
*In 2025, admission will be €3.00 for children aged 4 to 11 and €5.00 for visitors aged 12 and older. Children up to 3 years old have free admission. It is not necessary to make a reservation in advance for the experience center. The experience center is open daily, and tickets are available at the ticket machine on site.
Bobby Fish Treasure Hunt
We have developed the Bobby Fish treasure hunt through the experience centre especially for our youngest visitors. Bobby Fish has hidden himself in various places throughout the experience centre. Can you find them all? If so, a tasty surprise awaits you at reception!

Have the children found all the Bobby Fish and would you like to take another tour of the experience centre? There is a large drawing table here for the little ones where they can colour in pictures, either together with other children or completely focused on their own. This gives you some time to explore the experience centre at your leisure.
Interactive games
The Afsluitdijk Wadden Centre’s visitor centre has interactive games that are fun for young and old alike. Put on VR glasses and take a look at the Afsluitdijk and the future fish migration river, play the “swim walk” game in which you follow a salmon or eel on its journey, or take a look at one of the five special game stations.
Children’s party ‘Bobby Fish party’
Did you know that you can also organize your children’s party at the Afsluitdijk Wadden Center? During the “Bobby Fish party,” the birthday boy or girl and all their friends go in search of the Bobby Fish in our experience center. Afterwards, the little detectives are treated to delicious fries with a snack of their choice!
